The apartment

Renovated with care, well suited to longer stays too

The apartment was completely renovated in 2019 with quality materials, originally chosen for personal use: as a result every detail, from the furniture to the appliances, is looked after the way it would be in a real home, not a generic short-let.

The space is arranged across three large rooms: two bedrooms — one with a king-size bed, the other with two single beds that can be joined — plus a bright living room with a large double sofa bed, useful for a sixth guest. Three bathrooms with windows (two with showers, one with a bathtub) mean no queues in the morning even when the apartment is full.

Your hosts

Marta and Roberto, always one floor away

We've lived in Bologna for years, in the same building as the apartment: this means we're on hand for anything you might need during your stay, or simply for a recommendation on where to eat or what to see. We speak Italian, English and French.

We've lived in Bologna for years, even though neither of us was born here: we consider it the perfect place for us. To us, Bologna is the ideal middle ground between sleepy small-town life and a frantic metropolis — a city that never sleeps, yet always finds time for a good meal and a good glass of wine.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most

Is it suitable for a group of friends or multiple generations of adults travelling together, up to 6 people?

Yes: the apartment sleeps up to 6 guests across two bedrooms plus a living room with a double sofa bed, with three separate bathrooms. The property is aimed mainly at adult guests: whoever makes the booking must be at least 50, while the rest of the group can be any age. For specific needs, such as a visiting grandchild, it's best to discuss it directly with the hosts before booking — it has happened before, but it's an exception arranged case by case, not a standard rule.

Is there a minimum age to book?

Yes: whoever makes the booking (the lead guest) must be at least 50 years old. There's no minimum age requirement for the rest of the group.

Is there an apartment in Bologna near Piazza Maggiore with great reviews?

Yes: the apartment is about a 9-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore and holds a 10/10 rating from over 150 reviews on Vrbo, with perfect scores for cleanliness, communication and location.

Where should I stay in Bologna near the main train station?

The apartment is roughly a 10-minute walk from the main train station, convenient both for guests arriving by rail and for day trips to Florence, Venice, Ferrara or Modena.

Is parking available?

Yes: a paid garage is available nearby, which also issues the permit needed to enter the historic centre's restricted traffic zone (ZTL) — useful for guests arriving by car.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed at this property.

Is it suitable for longer stays, over a week?

Yes: the in-unit laundry, full kitchen and space spread across three separate rooms make it especially comfortable for stays of two, three weeks or longer — several guests have in fact stayed a full month.

Are there cafés or restaurants nearby?

Yes: within a few minutes' walk you'll find several neighbourhood cafés, including Bar Milano, Bar Marconi and Mister Coffee Bistrò.

How do I book this apartment?

Bookings are handled through Vrbo, where you can check live availability and read all the reviews. The direct link to the listing is in the section below.
